Japanese journalist living in Italy for more than 36 years, Yamada was an editorial director of Amarena, a Japanese monthly magazine specialized in the Italian fashion, art and culture. She writes now articles about fashion, interior, culture and food for several Japanese magazines and other medias. She is the first Japanese officially qualified as an olive oil taster by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. Yamada participates as a member of juge panels in international olive oil competitions in Italy and abroad, New York, Copenhagen and in Tokyo.
